On Thursday 19th April we ran the inaugural Chester Police North Rural Football Tournament. This was a local schools football tournament at Frodsham Leisure Centre.

Ten primary school attended the event which ran from 4pm – 7pm. Teams were put into 2 groups of 5 with the winners and runners up of the groups going forward to the semi-finals. The winners of each semi-final then battled it out in the final.

The eventual winners after a penalty shoot-out in the final with St. Luke’s RC Primary School was Kingsley C.P School.

All participants received a medal at the end of the tournament and the winners and runners up each received a small trophy.

The winners also collected a schools world cup style trophy and a £100 voucher to spend at Best Sports Ltd., Runcorn.

The event was organised by the local Police Community Support Officers and was designed to provide closer links between the schools, young people and Cheshire police in the local area.
