But he was a tight-fisted, grinding, squeezing, wrenching, grasping kind of Scrooge... a clutching covetous old sinner!

Frodsham Players return to the stage in November to present Neil Bartlett’s dark adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol ‘, Charles Dickens’ classic supernatural tale of poverty, charity and redemption. Set in Victorian London it tells the tale of Scrooge’s journey from miserly hatred of the world and the people in it to his salvation. Your heart will go out to this man that it is impossible to really like.

Performed in the round this ensemble adaptation uses Dickens’ extraordinary words and a cast of fourteen actors and musicians who play a range of ever-changing characters. This family friendly production is directed by Carole Shinkfield and features Ian Lancaster as Scrooge and David Varley as Marley. A magical, spine-chilling tale which will melt even the coldest of hearts.
